Nudi Pixel & Diving 4 Images Nudibranch Trip 2012Come and join our first organized liveaboard nudibranch dive trip to Sangeang Island (north of Komodo island) and Bima of Sumbawa Island. This trip is organized by Nudi Pixel (www.nudipixel.net) and Diving 4 Images (www.diving4images.com). Graham Abbot of Diving 4 Images has lead a successful nudibranch trip in 2011 and now we are collaborating to organize our nudibranch trip together in 2012. The dive site selection was made based on Graham's extensive experiences on diving in many places across Indonesia.
Start: October 6, 2012 - Bima, Sumbawa Island
End: October 13, 2012 - Bima, Sumbawa Island
Please find below a sample itinerary, please note that this can and may change due to conditions, guests best wishes and/or animal life.
Day 1: Divers will be transported to Cheng Ho direct from the airport to the harbour which takes approximately 15-20 minutes where we board, have welcome drinks and general boat briefing. After lunch there will be a thorough dive and safety briefing. Once everyone has their kit organised we will make an afternoon and night dive on a fantastic black sand and mixed coral site within the bay of Bima. Here we have two areas where guests can explore for unique nudibranch species.
Day 2: In the early hours we will move and wake up on the fantastic Sangeang island. Here we are on the foothills of a very scenic, photogenic and really dramatic volcano. Dive sites here are a variety of rich black sand, reef, coral slopes and mini walls, we will be diving on this island for the next few days. The aim is to stay on the same site till we are no longer finding good amounts of new nudibranch species, this also gives photographers the best chance to get some fantastic nudibranch photo's.
Day 3 - 6: Sangeang island. If people are interested there will be a land trip organised to a small village on this island. We will be donating and if anyone wants to donate a small amount of money we will be purchasing some goods most needed by the village. Please be advised not to bring any plastic gifts as they only end up as garbage, if you have certain gifts you would like to bring please let us know ahead of time.
Day 7: Either more of Sangeang or back into Bima Bay or to a fairly newly site on eastern Sumbawa to explore a new spot for nudibranch species. This all depends on how rich Sangeang island is. If we head back into Bima there is a great chance we will find even more different species as the tidal flow will be different after one week!
Usually we recommend at least 18 hours no fly time which means we can possibly make 2 dives today.
Day 8. Transport will be arranged for all luggage to depart 2 hours prior to the flight, then all divers will depart 1 hour prior to flight departure. There is the possibility to take a look around the town of Bima.
The general daily schedule would be as follows:
06.00 Light breakfast & drinks available
09.00 Main breakfast
18.00 Night dive
PLEASE NOTE: This is only a sample and can and may change due to conditions, guests best wishes and/or animal life.
