Comment from Richard Willan: Like most gymnodorids, this one is a predator on other nudibranchs, including members of its own species.
Gymnodoris aurita is described as large, reddish species with prominent tubercles and a yellowish border to the foot. It is known from the Philippines and Indonesia.
