Comment from Richard Willan: This species was previously called by the names Hypselodoris mouaci (Pacific Ocean populations) and Hypselodoris maridadilus (Indian Ocean populations).
Thanks to Mike Krampf for suggesting identification for this species. His note: Given the location this picture was taken and the white tips on the rhinopores this is mostly likely H. whitei. On the Sea Slug Forum, Dr. Rudman debates whether H. whitei and H. maridadilus are really two species.
