Comment from Felix Lorenz: Third time ever that this species was photographed. The photographer should have kept the shell, only one specimen known (the holotype) in the Los Angeles County Museum.
Photographer's notes: Found in some quantity whilst diving around the Varadero peninsula. I have other photos, one showing what may be one of these laying some small, purple, obling eggs, but that could as easily be waste excretion. Any help to identify would be great as the closest I can get to looks is a Jorunna of some sort (?)
Additional photographer's note: I have identified it. It is not a slug, but a snail! Sorry if I have caused you any work. It is called the Flamingo Tongue Snail and is essentially a Cowrie. The colourful shell is actually a fleshy mantle that it uses for oxygen transfer and to advertise that it tastes bad, so whilst many people apparently take them home expecting a nice shell, the shell is actually white/yellow and very plain.
