Comment from Richard Willan: This species varies geographically. Individuals from East Africa and the Red Sea lack a distinct turquoise blue band at the mantle edge but it is present inside the black band. It’s as though they had reversed the blue and black bands compared to individuals from the western Pacific. And the golden band inside the black band is only faint.
