Comment from Richard Willan: Notice how the parapodia of this Aplysia are separated very low down on the body right at ground level– this character make it a member of the subgenus Varria, and definitely excludes Aplysia juliana as a possible identification because that is in the subgenus Aplysia where the parapodia are fused much higher up on the body. I have a suspicion that this species might be Aplysia gigantea which is common elsewhere in the Indian Ocean, so call it Aplysia cf. gigantea.
