Odontoglaja guamensis from Weligama, Sri Lanka
Identification verified by Richard Willan

Identification is verified by Richard Willan, Nudi Pixel expert

Comment from Richard Willan: This is an atypical individual in that it is so smooth and so pale in colour – perhaps it is very juvenile?. Normally Odontoglaja guamensis has low pustules on the body and parapodia. And normally there are numerous, tiny, brown spots and sometimes larger pink spots, whilst the sides are brown with pale green or turquoise spots.

Dear Anouk,

Yes this is an aglajid. It is Odontoglaga guamensis, a small species which still has radula teeth, which have been lost in other aglajids. Your animal does not have the full colour pattern usually seen in this species, but the distribution of the small orange-brown spots is the same, so I would be very surprised if it was anything more than a pale specimen.

Best wishes,

Bill Rudman
