Comment from Richard Willan: This species is characterised by the complete orange transverse band and by the black lines radiating across the mantle's flanks. Neither of the other two similarly coloured species of Aldisa (i.e., Aldisa albatrossae or Aldisa erwinkoehleri) have any radial lines.
