Mexichromis kempfi from Bonaire, Netherlands Antilles
Identification verified by Richard Willan

Identification is verified by Richard Willan, Nudi Pixel expert

Comment from Richard Willan: It is interesting (and perhaps phylogenetically significant) how some species of the genus Mexichromis show ‘trailing’ behaviour just like all species of Risbecia which belongs to the same family. Even though it is smaller in size, the rear animal is sexually mature.

Thanks to Marli Wakeling & Vinicius Padula for suggesting identification for this species

Comment from Vinicius Padula: This is the Caribbean pattern of Mexichromis kempfi. This species was originally described from Brazil and a comparative study need to be made to see if the specimens from both localities belong to the same species. Regards, Vinicius Padula Museu Nacional / UFRJ Rio de Janeiro-Brazil

Comment from the photographer: looked it up and should be Mexichromis Kempfi. correct me if I'm wrong ;-)
