Comment from Nathalie Yonow: This subspecies Aegires gardineri nigerrima appears only in the Maldives, and you can see the tubercles are smaller and fewer than in the nominal species occurring elsewhere.
Comment from the photographer: Found in the Lhaviyani-Atoll, close to Kuredu.
