Onchidium sp. from Darnley Island (Erub Island), Australia
Identification verified by Richard Willan

Identification is verified by Richard Willan, Nudi Pixel expert

Comment from Richard Willan: This is what is commonly known as a Mangrove Slug, it is a pulmonate slug in which the lung opens at the rear of the body. So it isn’t a sea slug.

Thanks to Denis Riek for suggesting identification for this species

Comment from the photographer: Found between rockpools on the north coast of the island. The rocks were quite dry but the creature did not appear to be stressed. Photo taken in May 1995 with a 35mm SLR. Digitised from the negative with Epson v350 scanner. Colours accurate. Creature was about 10cm long.
