Comment from Richard Willan: This is a such a small species of chromodorid (maximum adult size 6 mm) that it could easily be mistaken as the juvenile of some other species. Its characteristic features are its translucent white mantle, large star-like opaque white mantle glands radiating inwards, series of orange stops and dashes around the mantle border, irregular dark brownish purple (plum coloured) spots on the mantle, and orange rhinophores and gills with white speckles and white tips. The specific name pruna, refers to the dark purple (plum coloured) spots on the mantle. Previously this species was only known from South Africa and Madagascar, so this photo represents a new record for Kenya.
