Ole Johan Brett

O.J.Brett started his diving in the Maldives in 1992, working for Crown Compani and Mr. Hussain Afeef on the island of Rangalifinolhu. Today Rangali is managed by Hilton. In 1992 it was only palm trees on the island. Doing exploring dives for several months around in Ari Atoll, the underwater photography interest started to blossom. What could have been a third generation of professional photographers Ole Johan have never made photography his profession, but brought up with cameras, it was impossible for him not to pick something from his more land based father. He sends his big thanks to his father Odd Hathaway Brett for giving him his knowledge in the art of also having a big joy in looking at others beautiful pictures.

Still taking all the still pictures with his analog Nikon RS he has a couple of thousands pictures to scan. The pictures shown in this website is only a small amount of his work. He has started sending pictures to http://www.fishbase.net/ and will continue to do that in the years to come. Having pygmy seahorses as his favourite model, he is not a really fast swimmer, so he sends his gratitude to all the dive guides, his wife and buddies that have experienced and accepted his immobility under water.

Ole`s motto is that a picture can always be better, and if it is not good enough – it is not close enough. He asks you all to contribute as much as possible to this website and always be in search for a better close-up.
