This species is distinguished by the network of black lines, like wire netting, all over the body and (consistently) also the sides of the foot. Although it has the specific name of minor (because the original name-bearing type specimen was very small), it is actually the largest member of the family!Comment from Richard Willan on photo #619

It is not always possible to distinguish between Aegires gardineri and Aegires minor externally, and that is the case with the upper individual here because the side of the foot is not visible in this photo.
