The mottled tan or brown body color of Aplysia californica distinguishes it from Aplysia vaccaria which is uniform dark brown or black.Comment from Richard Willan on photo #2476
I think this is more likely Aplysia californica (Aplysiidae). Normally it’s easy to tell Aplysia californica apart from Aplysia juliana because the parapodia of Aplysia californica fuse much lower down on the back, but that is not clear from this photo, so my guess is based on coloration.Locality:
