One of three Indian Ocean records, this specimen is clearly tiny, so difficult, but hintuanensis is the best best, esp. as the other records are from Sri Lanka.Comment from Nathalie Yonow on photo #36524
These Indian ocean records all differ slightly from the western Pacific ones.Comment from Richard Willan on photo #16409
This individual is recognisable as Chromodoris hintuanensis by the dark rings around (some of ) the pustules in the centre of the mantle. It is atypical of the species though in that the caps of the pustules are yellow rather than cream as is typical. Perhaps its similarity to Risbecia pulchella, which also occurs at this locality, is not accidental. They are probably closely related (maybe even in the same genus), or they could be part of a mimicry ring.Comment from Richard Willan on photo #8448
