This is a very pale individual so that the submarginal bluish band immediately inside the thin marginal black band is almost invisible.

This chromodorid nudibranch is recognised by the pale mantle with small brown spots, by a blue submarginal band in addition to the black marginal band, and by the whitish gills with black or brown lines up both axes. This image from Vietnam represents a significant new locality range for this rare species. Presently it is known with certainty from Papua New Guinea and Vanuatu, and potentially also from South Africa.
