The photographer is correct, this was called rubropapulosa before.

This is certainly common in the west Pacific.

An adult individual in the process of eating a Chromodoris westraliensis whole.

Since this photo was taken in Western Australia, it would be Chromodoris westraliensis for sure (this species is nearly indistinguishable from Chromodoris annae which occurs in the tropical Indo-Pacific).
