As is known for Halgerda aurantiomaculata, species of Halgerda are very variable intraspecifically. So this individual probably represents the pale colour form of Halgerda wasiniensis with the black pigment in the depressions between the ridges reduced to just a single large spot in every depression. This individual does possess all three characters related to the rhinophores and gills that distinguish Halgerda wasinensis: only the upper two-thirds of the rhinophoral clubs are black; the tips of the rhinophores themselves are white; and the gills are essentially white with black pigmentation restricted to the upper half of each gill.Comment from Richard Willan on photo #4922
This individual may be an exceptionally dark coloured individual of Halgerda wasinensis or it could be another, presently undescribed, species.Comment from Richard Willan on photo #3051
