could equally well be Janolus capensis since it is identical externally to Janolus longidentatus. Instead of trying to force the identification though, a better solution would be to call them all Janolus capensis species group. So this species group includes just Janolus capensis and Janolus longidentatus (but not Janolus nakaza).Comment from Richard Willan on photo #434
This species of zephyrinid is endemic to the Cape Province of South Africa. Externally, it is very similar to the two other species of Janolus known from South Africa, Janolus longidentatus and Janolus nakaza.Comment from Richard Willan on photo #3115
This species is indistinguishable externally from Janolus longidentatus, but Janolus nakaza differs from them both in having bright blue tips to the cerata.Locality:
