A contracted individual with its cerata placed dorsally instead of laid out flat horizontally which is the normal resting position. Maybe it was just about to start swimming. The head is on the left.Comment from Richard Willan on photo #1953

Detail of head and unopened oral veil. One of the large species of Melibe with flattened cerata. Melibe viridis has both surfaces of its cerata covered with very large, conical, unbranched pustules. A very large species of Melibe (up to 300 mm maximum length) that lives on the open on soft substrates. The underlying colour of the body is pale rose pink. The cerata are flattened with cone-shaped pustules on them, and their apices are bluntly rounded.Locality:
