The pustules are too few and too low to be Mexichromis multituberculata.

All the species presently placed in Mexichromis are variable and confusing. They all seem to have the spots on the mantle elevated on pustules to a greater or lesser extent. Mexichromis multituberculata presents the extreme case with the pustules being high and conical.
