Nembrotha cristata
Bergh, 1877
Comment from Dr. Marta Pola: This species is easy to identified because of its green pustules. They never have any trace of orange color on them.

Note the orange around some of the pustules. All other characters are as for cristata.Comment from Nathalie Yonow on photo #14618
This one has a bit of faint orange around some green pustules.Comment from Nathalie Yonow on photo #9205
Not sure about the pink tones on this animal.Comment from Nathalie Yonow on photo #29603
There is a name for this ascidian somewhere.... Clearly the three are feeding, I wonder if there are more??Comment from Richard Willan on photo #29205
At this time we really do not know the extent of colour variation in all species of Nembrotha. It would be wrong to say this particular individual is a different (undescribed) species just because of the dark maroon (instead of black) body and white (instead of green) pustules. Definitely leave it as Nembrotha cristata because the external appearance matches that species most closely.Comment from Nathalie Yonow on photo #4541
I think we can safely say that N. cristata is feeding on this ascidian, which should have a name.Comment from Nathalie Yonow on photo #4468
Note the genitalia are green.Comment from Nathalie Yonow on photo #6013
This is probably not N. cristata's egg mass.Comment from Richard Willan on photo #10595
This is an atypical individual that has a few red pustules. Normally they are all green.Locality:
