Species of the genus Rostanga are more or less identical externally and the differences are very subtle. In Rostanga bifurcata the clavus of the rhinophore is reduced compared to other species and has relatively fewer, horizontal lamellae (the lamellae are vertical in most other species). Internally species of Rostanga are very different, especially in the shape of their radular teeth.
