Benthic ctenophore – an unidentified species. This photo was probably taken at night. It shows beautifully the two branched fishing tentacles extended, one extruded from either end of the body.Comment from Richard Willan on photo #5305
Ctenophora: Platyctenea. Bottom-dwelling ctenophore (= sea gooseberry). Note the two extended fishing tentacles drifting about with the water current. These tentacles suggest this photo was taken at night – they are normally retracted during the day.Locality:
